Chapter Sixteen
Sasha
My lion noticed the difference almost immediately after I woke up. The real reason I’d faked being asleep was to give myself time to process the events of the night before. My mates had completed me and my beast at once.
And, one of us, it didn’t matter which, had gotten our omega pregnant.
With my lion sense, I could smell how Samuel’s pheromones and hormones had changed dramatically. His core scent was somewhat sweeter.
Rob cooked up scrambled eggs, enough to feed an army, while I made toast.
Samuel offered to help, but both of us needed this, to make sure our omega was nourished and satisfied.
We’d taken care of the satisfied part last night and in the shower this morning and intended to fill him up again as soon as possible.
Several times while we fucked, my teeth came out, my lion demanding I claim him and Rob at the same time, but I refrained—barely.
“Eggs are done. Samuel, do you want coffee or tea?”
I nudged Rob not and gave him the widest stare I could.
“What?”
“Maybe we shouldn’t give him caffeine.”
I didn’t know a lot about pregnancy and babies, but I knew caffeine was a no-no.
“He needs energy, he’s growing a…” His voice tapered off. We stood facing each other, neither one willing to spill the beans about what we already knew.
“You know. You smell it, too, don’t you?”
He looked around at Samuel who had become infatuated the television that I hardly ever turned on. “I thought it was just a change because we mated last night, but this is something more. He smells like cookies and cinnamon rolls now, not like before, yet, the Samuel smell is still present—like he rolled around in a bakery. I don’t want to scare him. He just got his freedom and two new mates. I didn’t know if you knew.”
I took his hand in mine and leaned forward to kiss his temple. For a tough, smart-as-hell guy, Rob could be daft about the normal things.
“I knew from the moment I woke up. He’s got enough to deal with. My instinct is to protect him from any more stress, but he has to know. He would be happy, don’t you think?”
We’d been so engrossed in our conversation that we missed Samuel crossing the room and coming to stand next to us, leaning his head on Rob’s shoulder. He spoke softly. “I dreamed of him. He’s looks like all of us. He’s perfect, and he will be born like the wind, colors and golden and one of a kind.”
Well, that answered our concerns.
“You’re not upset?” Rob asked, pulling our trio closer together. At that moment, I needed to feel their skin on mine, but their warmth would suffice.
“Of course, I’m not. I’m free now thanks to both of you. I’ve found the two alphas I’m meant to be joined with for life, and now I carry our love in my belly. There’s nothing that could make me unhappy at this point. I’ve got a piece of both of you in me.
